1. Scope
This Privacy Policy describes how Origin Lab Holdings, Inc. ("Origin Lab," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you use originlab.ai, app.originlab.ai, related APIs, contact forms, sample-download workflows, and other Website or Marketplace services that link to this Privacy Policy (collectively, the "Services").
If you use Origin Lab's downloadable recorder application, the separate Recorder App Privacy Policy also applies and governs recording-specific data practices.
2. Information We Collect
Information you provide. This may include your name, work email, company name, job title, country, account credentials, messages, inquiry details, support requests, transaction and billing information, rights-management information, and any files or metadata you upload through the Marketplace.
Marketplace and transaction data. We may collect order history, license records, download history, sample requests, account administration settings, authorized-user information, and other records relating to your use of the Marketplace.
Usage and device data. We may automatically collect IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, approximate location derived from IP, pages viewed, timestamps, referring URLs, log files, API activity, and similar technical information.
Cookies and similar technologies. We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Services, remember preferences, analyze usage, improve performance, and maintain security. The Marketplace may use session-based authentication tokens for access management; these are functional, not marketing, cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings, although disabling cookies may affect site functionality.
Third-party sources. We may receive information from single sign-on providers, payment processors, analytics providers, fraud-prevention providers, and service providers that help us operate the Services.
3. How We Use Information
We use personal information to: provide and operate the Services; create and manage accounts; respond to inquiries; process transactions; deliver samples and content; administer access approvals; secure the Services; detect abuse, fraud, or policy violations; support rights management; improve the Services; communicate with you; maintain business records; and comply with legal obligations.
Where allowed by law, we may also use information for internal analytics, service quality review, troubleshooting, product planning, and business operations.
4. How We Share Information
We may share personal information with: (a) service providers that host, secure, analyze, deliver, or support the Services; (b) payment processors and professional advisors; (c) affiliates or transaction counterparties as reasonably necessary to provide the Services or complete a transaction; (d) authorities or other parties when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, or the Services; and (e) a buyer, investor, or successor in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets.
We may also disclose aggregated or de-identified information that does not reasonably identify you.
We do not sell personal information of website visitors and marketplace account holders in the ordinary course of operating the Website and Marketplace. Content and dataset licensing are governed by the applicable Marketplace Terms, Recorder App documents, and commercial agreements.
5. International Transfers
Origin Lab's primary data processing infrastructure is located in the United States. Origin Lab and its service providers may also store or process information in other countries where we or our providers operate.
By using the Services, you understand that information may be transferred to and processed in countries outside your own. When required by applicable law, we will implement appropriate transfer or contractual safeguards.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to provide the Services, enforce agreements, maintain business and financial records, investigate issues, resolve disputes, and comply with legal obligations.
Retention periods vary depending on the nature of the information and the context in which it was collected. Account information may be kept while an account remains active and for a reasonable period afterward. Transaction records may be kept longer for finance, tax, or audit purposes.
7. Your Choices and Rights
You may choose not to provide certain information, but some Services may not function properly without it.
You may unsubscribe from non-essential marketing communications by using the unsubscribe link in the message or contacting us.
Depending on applicable law, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of certain personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. We will review and respond to requests as required by applicable law.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children
The Services are intended for adults and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children through the Services.
